The Masterchef-Style
Cooking Challenge

As the climax to a great week - and as a bit of fun to boot - we’re going to have a bit of a Masterchef-style cooking challenge…

That probably sounds a bit scary, but fear not!

By Friday, you'll have picked up a plethora of new skills and recipe ideas, so we thought it would be a great idea to allow you to put them to use straight away.

So, early on in the week, and purely for the purposes of the Friday challenge, you’ll form into two or three groups.

And don't worry, you can choose who you'd like to work with and which course you'd like to be involved in because, at the end of the day, if it ain't fun, you won't learn anything!

Devise and prepare a three course Masterchef-quality meal...

Using the skills, techniques and knowledge you'll acquire during a week of intensive cooking, your collective challenge will be to devise a two or three course menu for Friday’s farewell dinner.

Over the next few days, you'll be able to plan your part of the meal using the huge range of tips, advice and recipe ideas that you'll pick up over the course of your cooking holiday.

Spend a morning buying ingredients...

After breakfast on Friday, we’ll descend on nearby Sarlat where each group will be given €20 Euros in order to buy five core ingredients for their chosen dish.

We’ll then return here for a light lunch of local bread and cheese after which each group will be responsible for preparing and cooking one course out of the three i.e. a Starter, a Main Course or a Dessert.

Use ingredients we already have here...

With a full range of store cupboard items already here, a good selection of cookery books to browse through and ex Masterchef contestant, Jim Fisher, on hand to dish out sage advice, a Masterchef-quality dish will be well within your grasp!
