Christmas cooking course will give you a taste of a typical Christmas in France - and it has nothing to do with turkey!
Actually, it's seafood and shellfish that are often on the French Christmas menu, together with duck, goose, venison and wild boar. What is more, it's Christmas Eve when the big meal is consumed and the Christmas gifts are opened.
With its mild climate (locals have been known to eat Christmas dinner outdoors) and beautiful rolling scenery, quiet roads and few tourists, the Dordogne is a very lovely and tranquil place in which to spend Christmas.
As a bonus, the festive season is much less commercialised here than in the UK, but the area is still bedecked with Christmas trees and decorations, and at the entrance to every village the roads are festooned with baubles, tinsel, ribbons and little parcels wrapped in gorgeous Christmas colours.
You will be staying in our magnificent, comfortable and spacious recently converted barn, which is centrally-heated throughout. The four large ensuite bedrooms are either twins or doubles and all open independantly onto the sunny courtyard. The impressive kitchen and lounge area are upstairs under the stupendous vaulted ceiling.
I know it's early yet to start thinking about gifts for Christmas, but if you are struggling to come up with a Christmas gift idea, then why not give your partner, best friend, or cherished family member a really special Christmas gift - a five day/six night Christmas cooking course here in the heart of the Dordogne, SW France.
